01 About us

Current operating status

Due to the ongoing war, the terminal’s production operations are temporarily suspended. The technical specifications on this website describe the enterprise’s infrastructure and capabilities.

AgroAlfaTerminal LLC is an integrated facility for the reception, post-harvest handling, storage and transshipment of grain, oilseeds and pulses. The elevator reached full operating capacity in 2012. Since its launch, the enterprise has focused on handling grain, sunflower seeds, corn and other agricultural crops.

The terminal is designed to receive agricultural products by rail and road, carry out further handling, accumulate and store cargo, and dispatch it for onward transportation. The logistics scheme provides for delivery towards Mykolaiv Commercial Sea Port and subsequent loading onto seagoing vessels.

The enterprise is oriented towards cooperation with agricultural producers, farms, grain traders, exporters, processing companies and international partners. This positioning reflects the needs of different participants in the agricultural supply chain, from crop suppliers to businesses involved in onward transportation and export.

The terminal’s infrastructure combines rail and road reception, process lines for cargo movement, post-harvest handling equipment and a silo storage complex. Detailed technical specifications and key capacity figures are provided in the “Technology and Laboratory” section.

Its location in Mykolaiv and focus on port logistics position the enterprise as a link between agricultural production, domestic transport routes and the export infrastructure of the Black Sea region.

02 Technology & laboratory

The process flow at AgroAlfaTerminal LLC is designed for the reception, handling, post-harvest conditioning, accumulation and storage of grain, oilseeds and pulses. The designed single-use storage capacity is up to 30,000 tonnes.

Reception is organised through two receiving lines. Each of the two material-handling flows has a capacity of approximately 200 tonnes per hour. The process includes unloading rail and road vehicles, drying, cleaning, grading, weighing, conveying and placing products into storage.

Main technical capabilities

The enterprise’s infrastructure is designed for the reception, transshipment, post-harvest handling and storage of oilseeds, cereals and pulses.

30,000 tonnes Single-use storage in six silos
3,000 tonnes per day Road reception
1,000 tonnes per day Rail reception
4,000 tonnes per day Dispatch by road on Ship loading
60,000 tonnes per month Warehouse turnover
24/7 Laboratory quality control Round-the-clock testing of grain, oilseeds and pulses
In-house laboratory and quality control. The terminals laboratory operated around the clock, providing prompt quality control at all major stages of the technological process. A comprehensive range of tests was carried out for grain, oilseeds and pulses, including moisture content, foreign matter and grain impurities, test weight, protein content, oil content, gluten content and other quality parameters, depending on the crop and product requirements. Laboratory test results were used to assess incoming batches, monitor cleaning and drying processes, and determine appropriate conditions for further storage and dispatch.

Main stages of the process

1 Reception Rail and road transport
2 Processing Grain cleaning, drying and grading
3 Storage Accumulation and storage in silos
4 Dispatch Road transport and seagoing vessels

Equipment and automation

Storage is provided by six ventilated silos with a combined volume of 35,760 m³, manufactured by Karlivka Machine-Building Plant (Ukraine). The receiving station is equipped with mechanised systems and conveyor lines manufactured by Elevatorpromservis LLC in Mykolaiv.

Conveyors move products between stages of the process. The control system interlocks handling mechanisms according to the selected route, including transfer to cleaning, drying or storage, as well as movement to the non-conforming grain storage area.

Automated control is provided; setup and maintenance modes are operated manually. The automation system was implemented with the involvement of Mykolaiv-based Electrym 2000 LLC and APS JV LLC.

Note: these figures describe the enterprise’s technical capabilities. The terminal’s production operations are currently temporarily suspended due to the ongoing war.
